Crisis Management
In response to a number of enquiries from clients and the market place in general M & H Consultants and Training have developed a one day training seminar for middle and senior managers in relation to the skills and techniques required in the management of an emergency or other crisis.
Training Aim - to assist the equipping of attendees with the knowledge and skills to lead in the management of emergencies at the operational, tactical and strategic levels.
Audience - middle and senior managers currently operating in large retail operations, leisure and hotel industry, licensed trade, transport and logistics sector, public transport, financial sector, local authorities, public health bodies, petro-chemical industry and utility companies.
Training Outcomes
- Understand the concept of Integrated Emergency Management and the Scottish Governments Preparing Scotland guidance.
- Demonstrate an awareness of the personal, professional and organisational challenges of leadership in emergency situations.
- Demonstrate an awareness of leadership styles and their suitability in different situations.
- Provide a confidential review of individual attendees' personal style of leadership.
- Develop briefing and debriefing skills.
- Analyse and evaluate information in order to make effective decisions equipping individuals with a process to assist in the justification of difficult decisions.
- Have an appreciation of a range of decision-making models.
- Demonstrate techniques to assist managers to run effective meetings.
- Have an appreciation of the role of tactical command in the overall context of the local, regional and national emergency management structures and processes.
- Provide support and advice to those whose task it is to communicate with the public through the media.
- Provide attendees with a range of current case studies comparing theory with reality in regard to the emergency or crisis management.
Individual assessment will be carried out and successful attendees will receive a completion certificate and a memory stick containing legislative and working practice guidance for use in the workplace.
Follow Through Sessions
A comprehensive range of follow up sessions designed to develop the skills of those attending the initial training seminar are also available ranging from elective workshop events to large scale table top training exercises. In addition the Consultancy has the ability, and importantly the experience, to quickly audit and review an organisation's actual ability to respond effectively and efficiently to an emergency situation.
